WE & ME to WE

WE Charity Logo Me to We Logo

WE Charity (formerly Free the Children) is an amazing organization close to my heart. They aim to inspire youth to care about social issues and commit to making local and global change. WE Charity’s domestic programs educate, engage and empower hundreds of thousands of youth in North America and the UK. Their international projects have brought over 650 schools and school rooms to youth and provided clean water, health care and sanitation to one million people around the world, freeing children and their families from the destructive cycle of poverty. WE Charity believes in a world where all young people are free to achieve their fullest potential as agents of change.

ME to WE is a social enterprise in which half of the net profit is donated to WE Charity and the other half is reinvested to grow the enterprise and its social mission. Through the WE Store and ME to WE Style, ME to WE sells socially conscious and environmentally friendly clothes, books and music.

I am honoured to have been supporting and writing about WE and ME to WE since September 2011 when I attended my first WE Day, WE Charity’s annual celebration of change, in Toronto. I look forward to attending WE Day every year because it is such an incredible and life-changing day. I have also had the opportunity to meet and interview many WE ambassadors, including Nelly Furtado and Spencer West, as well as co-founder Craig Kielburger.
