To say the month of March has felt like a never-ending series of curveballs would be a significant understatement. I hope you’re staying healthy, enjoying everything our fave streaming services have to offer and perhaps discovering a new hobby or two! Mine is apparently baking cakes with my mom. 🍰

Now that I’ve finally found my new go-to basic white tees from Topshop and Zara, I’m loving cute cropped jackets, especially in a fun style like a cheetah or military print. They’re perfect for spring and you can easily dress them up or down with perfectly-paired accessories and solid colours.
* Shopping Local *
Major props to all the retailers I shop with who made the difficult but necessary decision to help flatten the curve and closed their doors early on. Now more than ever, it’s important to support small, local businesses and ensure they can get back on their feet as quickly as possible once this is all over.

* Layoverland by Gabby Noone *

Another travel-related book! Layoverland checks off every box I have for a perfect read — it’s got humour, twists, adventure, romance (Caleb ❤︎), wit and, ultimately, personal discovery. But best of all, this modern rom-com is completely unputdownable. If that’s not a word, I just made it one.
Official summary:
Beatrice Fox deserves to go straight to hell. At least, that’s what she believes. Her last day on Earth, she ruined the life of the person she loves most–her little sister, Emmy. So when Bea awakens from a fatal car accident to find herself on an airplane headed who knows where, she’s confused, to say the least. * Want What You Got by The Beaches *
On the topic of supporting Canadian talent, home-grown rockers The Beaches soared to the top of my playlist after I saw them live March 1. They are simply fascinating (“Fascination” is another must-listen song) and I’ve never added so many tracks to my favourites at once.
* After Hours by The Weeknd (Album) *
Abel Tesfaye has done it again. 👏 The Weeknd is one of the few artists who can do no wrong in my books, and his new album ‘After Hours’ is the latest stunning proof. There really are no skips on the 14-track album, though I’m particularly loving “Too Late,” “Faith” (the sonic turning point of the album) and “In Your Eyes” (a Max Martin-produced banger).
* Heartbreak Weather by Niall Horan (Album) *
I just love Niall Horan. His new album ‘Heartbreak Weather’ is filled with bops — upbeat bops, sad bops, carpool karaoke bops…all the bops — and you can tell he has truly found his sound and aesthetic three years after the release of his debut solo LP ‘Flicker.’ Even when he really starts to pull at your heartstrings, the music is hopeful, light-hearted and fun — something we could all use right now. Fingers crossed he can still tour this record as seeing Niall alongside openers Lewis Capaldi and FLETCHER would be beyond dreamy.

Understandably, we all have quite the open window to catch up on and start new shows. What are you waiting for? Grab the popcorn and seize the remote!
- Euphoria: I’ve had Euphoria (streaming now on Crave) on my to-watch list for months. As HBO describes it, “Euphoria follows a group of high school students as they navigate love and friendships in a world of drugs, sex, trauma, and social media.” It’s raw and relatable with incredible acting, writing and cinematography. Get ready for an emotional rollercoaster — perhaps one of the most unforgettable rides of your life.
- Little Fires Everywhere: Based on the novel of the same name by Celeste Ng, this Hulu miniseries starring Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington is the latest to take the internet by storm and it is most definitely worth the hype. Little Fires Everywhere is drama-filled, emotion-evoking and will have you instantly hooked. The first three episodes are available to stream now.
- Élite: One of my favourite YouTubers has raved up and down about this Spanish teen drama thriller, so I had to give it a shot. Best described as a mix between Gossip Girl, American Horror Story and How to Get Away with Murder, the show follows a diverse group of students at an elite private school in Spain, and believe me when I say you see the good, the bad and the ugly (murder included). There are so many layers to the cast and the plot that make it an exciting watch. You will not be disappointed!
- Bright Minded with Miley Cyrus: This pick is a little different from the rest, but I had to include it! The unofficial Internet Queen of Positivity, Miley Cyrus, is keeping us educated and entertained during our house arrests with a new Instagram Live show, Bright Minded. Recruiting her wide network of celeb friends, Miley is hosting a series of daily talks and interviews with fellow bright minds like Ellen (3/23), Hilary Duff (3/25) and dad Billy Ray (3/24). Previous guests include Demi Lovato, Love Is Blind couple Lauren & Cameron and Miley’s therapist Dr. Daniel Amen. Bring your notepad to jot down the incredible insights. See you at 2:30PM EST!
