If I’m being real with you, November was A MONTH. I was so busy and all over the place between meetings, midterms, work and catching up with life, I basically forgot what having a social life was like. A great benefit to this, though, was all the time I had to curate and obsess over my November playlist. It definitely provided a great escape and made doing homework much more entertaining!

Playlist: July finds & faves

This summer has been a prime time for music. The weather is (almost) consistently beautiful and our favourite artists are supplying their own sunshine and rainbows in the form of new music. The latest releases have been vibrant, fresh and upbeat – everything I’m looking for in songs I can jam out to and put on repeat. Also, if you’re anything like me, you’ve already gone back and fallen in love again with all the songs you were obsessed with last summer. Reminiscing about your favourite summer memories as you make new ones is truly the best!

In honour of my stateside friends having just celebrated the 4th of July, this month’s playlist goes all out with 44 songs – 2 hours and 35 minutes of pure ear magic. (No, that is totally not a fake justification for me going a little music crazy making this playlist…not at all.)

Message to Mother Nature: It’s OK, you can stop withholding the summer weather from us! She’s come out a few times, we loved her and we’re ready to embrace and love her. Not to mention that I need the weather to match my summer-ready playlist ☼

Whatever the weather where you are, this playlist is filled with upbeat songs and good vibes you can enjoy night and day. My hot tip: Listen to it the whole way through! I worked extra hard this month to make sure every song flows into the next to the point where I can’t stop listening to it myself, so hit play and enjoy the next 105 minutes.

MUSIC MONDAY: Springing into Spring with Vibrant Tunes

Although the weather may indicate otherwise, spring is officially here and a new playlist fit for the season is a necessity.

You may have noticed that there was no new Music Monday playlist on my blog in February. In case you missed it, I partnered with Girls’ Life magazine to curate five Valentine’s Day-themed playlists covering everything from love songs for happy couples to girl power anthems for the single and proud chicas. These playlists are guaranteed to hit you right in the feels all year long!

For this month’s playlist, I’m starting off spring on a musical high with 15 handpicked tunes that will bring out all the good vibes! Before you listen to it in full, preview my selections from three of the hottest artists in the industry.

“LIKE I WOULD” by Zayn

Zayn Malik broke off from his One Direction bandmates to take time off and experiment with new projects. Then, rumours started swirling about an official solo music venture. Zayn officially responded to the speculation by dropping his single “Pillowtalk” and giving fans their first taste of his new sound. Now, leading up to the release of the full-length disc ‘Mind of Mine’ on March 25, Zayn has been surprise releasing his favourite songs from the album. Fan-favourite “LIKE I WOULD” is an upbeat track about reconnecting with a former fling.

They are oozing talent, drive, passion and a sound like no other – they are the bands and artists to watch in 2016.

For this month’s playlist, I have handpicked some of my favourite artists who are ready to dominate the music world in 2016. Before you listen to it in full, preview six of my selections and get hyped for a new year filled with incredible new music.

Who Is Fancy

Who is Fancy, you ask? He is Jake Hagood, a 24-year-old pop singer and rapper hailing from Arkansas. In the past year, he has garnered the attention of Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift’s managers and released a single with Meghan Trainor and Ariana Grande. With a debut album in the works, expect to hear a lot more from Who Is Fancy in 2016!

DNCE

It is nearly impossible to not want to get up and dance to any one of DNCE’s catchy tunes. The new music project from Joe Jonas and friends Jack Lawless, Cole Whittle and JinJoo Lee saw great success in 2015 with a debut EP, ‘SWAAY,’ and sold-out club tour. The group has already teased a full-length album and follow-up tour for 2016 and we are SO ready!
