“Like This” — Sofi Tukker
I haven’t stopped raving about Sofi Tukker for the past two months, after finally having the chance to see the party duo live in Montreal (at one of their unforgettable Animal Talk club parties, nonetheless). Side note: They put on a MUST-see show — and it takes a lot for me to say that!
They premiered this song in Montreal and I was immediately counting down the days until their ‘Dancing On The People’ EP release to get the studio version for my playlist. It’s an irresistible jam and always puts me in the best mood! Take a listen and try to prove me wrong. ㋡
“Trampoline” (with ZAYN) — SHAED
A new ZAYN release was one of the last things I expected to come out of the start of the fall season, but I’m totally here for it. Partnering up with one of my favourite groups SHAED to refresh their hit 2018 single “Trampoline,” I probably won’t rest again until I get a live version. #needitnow
“Rooting for You” — Alessia Cara
Betrayal sucks — as does believing the best in someone and seeing them do you wrong. In her latest single, our Canadian girl Alessia Cara lets us know she gets it. “Like damn, why you gotta be so cold in the summertime?” she sings. Seriously though — in the words of the legendary Tyra Banks, “I was rooting for you! We were all rooting for you!”
“Lonely” — Diplo and Jonas Brothers
Another monthly playlist = another JB tune — and this one came with a sweet, viral social media roll-out. After fooling tons of the JoBros’ followers with an epic “Instagram hack,” Diplo officially unveiled the pair’s long-awaited country-pop collab, “Lonely.” The social-themed music video is a funny spoof of the feud some outlets reported ensued from Diplo live streaming and thus “ruining” Joe’s Vegas wedding to Sophie Turner. Fortunately, Joe and his bros are still solid pals with the DJ-producer, giving us this catchy end-of-summer song that will definitely be on repeat!
“God Is A Dancer” (with Mabel) — Tiësto
Mabel is by far one of my favourite artists to make her way into the mainstream this year — “Finders Keepers” and “Don’t Call Me Up” are two of my go-to’s. “God Is A Dancer” is the latest sassy and sensual smash to come from the British songstress, who was tapped by mega-producer Tiësto to bring the beats to life. I dare you not to dance along (it’s impossible).
