It’s the most wonderful time of the year! 🎶

Every winter, I love adding the latest holiday singles to my Christmas playlist. My heart fills with festive joy hearing all the new melodies, lyrics and fresh twists applied to Christmas classics. It’s like the 12 days of Christmas — music edition!

This year, artists like Taylor Swift, Kacey Musgraves and the Jonas Brothers came through with fresh takes on the OGs and new releases that are sure to be instant holiday staples. Scroll down for this month’s playlist and press play on 12 of the latest and greatest holiday tunes!

You’re guaranteed to fall in love with the full playlist, but here are five songs that will instantly warm you up.

“Christmas Tree Farm” — Taylor Swift

If Taylor’s hit single “Lover” didn’t give you enough holiday vibes, “Christmas Tree Farm” will be the best gift to your playlist. I knew this song was going to be incredible when I saw Jimmy Napes, my favourite songwriter and producer, was involved in the production — and boy, was I right. I just want to grab my friends and sway back and forth belting these lyrics every. single. time I hear it… and the fact she wrote this a week before its release? Tay is unstoppable!

“With You This Christmas” — Why Don’t We

A Christmas bop! I’m obsessed with this cute holiday love song by Why Don’t We, who also brought us 2016’s “You and Me at Christmas” (with an equally adorable retro-style video) and the EP A Why Don’t We Christmas. I’m ready for the full Christmas album… a girl can hope for 2020.

“Baby, It’s Cold Outside” — John Legend featuring Kelly Clarkson

Just when you thought you’d heard every version of this Christmas classic, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson brought the house down with a socially-conscious revamp. Despite some of the controversy around John and Kelly changing the iconic lyrics, I think it’s clever and, really, I’ll take any opportunity to hear more from this awesome pairing.

“Glittery” — Kacey Musgraves featuring Troye Sivan

Kacey’s new holiday special, The Kacey Musgraves Christmas Show, gifted us a fantastic 18-song soundtrack that has no skips, including this adorable track about the warm and fuzzy feelings of a winter romance. “I love the way you decorate my heart,” Kacey sings. Too precious!

“Christmas Time” — Tyler Shaw

I had to feature a Canadian artist on this list, and this track was perfect since it’s total Canadian inception. B.C.-born Tyler Shaw just dropped his take on East Coast rocker Bryan Adams’ holiday hit and it’s a blessing to our ears. There definitely is something about Christmas time that makes you wish it was Christmas every day, and this song provides the perfect soundtrack to all the festivities!
